Carve Her Name With Pride

Violette Szabo & the film Carve Her Name With Pride (1958) is about the poem that in the film Etienne Szabo wrote for Violette and she subsequently used as her code poem.
.
The life that I have Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours
.
The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours
.
A sleep I shall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause
.
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours
.
Carve Her Name With Pride - Virginia Mckenna, Jack Warner, Paul Scofield, Lewis Gilbert - an absolutely magnificent film made for about £3.50. or I should say £3 10s - shillings.
About a young 23 year old girl who was killed by firing squad behind the lines in WW11. I was very moved by this story.
.
I posted this small piece elsewhere but it got no attention so I thought I might see if you my Brothers can see in this story in this poem what I see.
.
Freemasonry can spin many a yarn but every now and then real life teaches more.
.
Review Summary
Carve Her Name With Pride is based on R. J. Minney's book about real-life British war heroine Violet Szabo. Played by Virginia McKenna, Violet joins the war effort when her French husband is killed. By virtue of her facility at languages, Violet is sent by the British secret service to spy on the Germans. Captured, she is tortured to reveal her secrets; her refusal to betray her comrades earns her the grudging respect of her Nazi tormentors. After her execution, Violet Szabo is posthumously awarded the George Cross. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/8475/Ca ... e/overview
.
A difficult film to watch but what a magnificent performance.
