I really can't understand why people continue to believe that Freemasonry is a religion. It's clearly not!
I think the problem that people (such as conservative evangelical Christians) have is that they can't see beyond their own faith, and because of that they are unaware of what society is actually like. The fact is that we cannot enforce one religion on everybody, which is what conservative evangelicals want to do, and so Freemasonry takes the approach that although we cannot make a united society through religion, we can make society united through morality.
